Swim Time

Today we went swimming again and this time with Daddy! Keely had so much fun and really enjoys being in the water. Trying to teach her to hold her breath or just keep her mouth closed in the water is a tough one, but we're working on it. Unfortunately we had to cut our swim short because of a storm that came in, but the time we were there was a blast.

Phase 1

So several weeks ago Brent began Phase 1 on landscaping the backyard. I showed you the first step, when he used the bobcat to dig in our mountain of a hill. Here is the progression of what he's been doing for the past 3 weekends.

After digging with the bobcat and leveling the dirt.
Setting up the footer.
Putting Jaccob to work.
Setting up the posts.
Here's the wall!
So Phase 1 is almost complete, just a few more loose ends to tie up. But looks great, don't you think! He's been working hard and getting help from so many people. Hopefully when it's all done we'll have a great spot to gather and BBQ.

Pool Day

Today I braved taking Keely to the pool at the high school just up the road. When I first heard about the pool I was told they had a kiddie pool, but come to find out that it's just a normal big pool. We took a little trip to Wal-Mart to find a baby float and off we went. Keely had such a good time and talk about relief from the baby weight for me. We walked around the water, went for a few dunks, and just had fun splashing in the pool. Keely was mesmerised by all the kids and commotion happening all around her. All in all, so much fun! Since it was just Keely and I the only picture I got was this one that I took with my phone when we got out of the water. Please don't mind the look on my face. I was trying to figure out how to take the picture since I couldn't see anything. Keely of course is watching everyone else. Hopefully we'll have many more trips to the pool and can't wait to go one weekend when Brent can come along.

Week 26

So here we are at 26 weeks prego! It's so hard to believe that I'm that far along. There are little things here and there that I'm noticing that are different this go around. It feels like my belly is out so much more, not sure if this is in my head or really because carrying a boy and girl is that different. Some other everyday tasks are becoming a little more interesting include: changing Keely's diaper, giving her a bath, and even rolling on the floor playing with her. But although they may be more challenging I'm still feeling great and loving every moment of the pregnancy and Mommyhood. We are feeling A LOT more movements during the day and especially at night. This little guy is strong! We will continue to give updates and more pictures are to come.

Highway to the Danger Zone!

Watch out Maverick and Ice Man...here comes Daddy's Girl. Today I took my niece and nephew to the Build a Bear workshop as promised for Christmas last year. My nephew got some sunglasses for his new bear that were just Keely's size. She was kind enough to keep them on long enough for her "momarrazi" photo shoot.

1 Going on 16

Keely is only one year old and she's already grown before our eyes. Here she is ready to go shopping. Such a girlie girl!

Utensils

With turning one comes more independence from this little girl. Keely has been interested in using her spoon by herself and without Mom's help. Here she is using a spoon by herself for the first time. She was eating cereal and surprisingly some actually made it in her mouth. I know the lighting on the video makes it hard to see, but she's got the idea!

Project Backyard has Begun!

We've (Brent) officially started the creation or destruction of landscaping the backyard. Although this project is a work in progress taking the first step is a big one! Brent is making another tier to our hill and going to line it with the railroad ties that he got a few weeks ago. Now that we've started there's no going back, wish us (him) luck!

20 lbs and 6 Needles!

Today Keely had her 12 month well baby appointment. Here are the stats:

Weight: 20 lbs 1 oz
Height: 29.33 in
Head Circumference: 43.4 cm

She is doing great and climbing the chart steadily from birth. She's hitting all milestones that she should and was a great patient for the doctor. We were given the OK on weaning away from formula and also the OK to try peanut butter. Bring on PB & J's! Unfortunately with the check up comes the 12 month shots-5 to be exact and 1 blood lab draw, which equals 6 needles. Poor, poor Keely was not a happy camper. All things considered she did great. Her appointment was right in the middle of nap time and instead of falling asleep in the car like Mom wanted her to before the appointment, she stayed up the entire car trip (which never happens that close to nap time). So we had the Dr. appointment, visit to get shots, then lab to get blood drawn which led to leaving at Noon and no morning nap. Thankfully we were able to go my Mom's and had a much better afternoon.

On another note, I had my Dr. appointment yesterday. I'm currently 24 weeks and 4 days. My weight gain is right on track and everything still looks great. We listened to the heartbeat which continues to sound strong. Keely was with me for the first time at the appointment and had a blast listening to her brother's heartbeat. She was laughing and clapping and really entertaining Ms. Felicia (my midwife). So things are continuing to progress beautifully for everyone in the Duncan home!

Chillin at Home

Even though I'm not working right now it seems like I'm more busy than ever. The last two weeks have been non-stop between Keely's birthday party and trying to catch up from when I was working we have been on the go. Today we finally stayed home and relaxed a little. I enjoyed going for a walk this morning before Keely's morning nap. That seems to be the only time of day we can go for a walk when it's not too hot. We've done some laundry and played around. It's been a fun day. Here's Keely enjoying getting into Mom's things. She found my hat and her vitamins and looked hilarious chillin in the hat, walking around everywhere, and talking up a storm.
