1 Going on 16

Keely is only one year old and she's already grown before our eyes. Here she is ready to go shopping. Such a girlie girl!

Utensils

With turning one comes more independence from this little girl. Keely has been interested in using her spoon by herself and without Mom's help. Here she is using a spoon by herself for the first time. She was eating cereal and surprisingly some actually made it in her mouth. I know the lighting on the video makes it hard to see, but she's got the idea!

Project Backyard has Begun!

We've (Brent) officially started the creation or destruction of landscaping the backyard. Although this project is a work in progress taking the first step is a big one! Brent is making another tier to our hill and going to line it with the railroad ties that he got a few weeks ago. Now that we've started there's no going back, wish us (him) luck!

20 lbs and 6 Needles!

Today Keely had her 12 month well baby appointment. Here are the stats:

Weight: 20 lbs 1 oz
Height: 29.33 in
Head Circumference: 43.4 cm

She is doing great and climbing the chart steadily from birth. She's hitting all milestones that she should and was a great patient for the doctor. We were given the OK on weaning away from formula and also the OK to try peanut butter. Bring on PB & J's! Unfortunately with the check up comes the 12 month shots-5 to be exact and 1 blood lab draw, which equals 6 needles. Poor, poor Keely was not a happy camper. All things considered she did great. Her appointment was right in the middle of nap time and instead of falling asleep in the car like Mom wanted her to before the appointment, she stayed up the entire car trip (which never happens that close to nap time). So we had the Dr. appointment, visit to get shots, then lab to get blood drawn which led to leaving at Noon and no morning nap. Thankfully we were able to go my Mom's and had a much better afternoon.

On another note, I had my Dr. appointment yesterday. I'm currently 24 weeks and 4 days. My weight gain is right on track and everything still looks great. We listened to the heartbeat which continues to sound strong. Keely was with me for the first time at the appointment and had a blast listening to her brother's heartbeat. She was laughing and clapping and really entertaining Ms. Felicia (my midwife). So things are continuing to progress beautifully for everyone in the Duncan home!

Chillin at Home

Even though I'm not working right now it seems like I'm more busy than ever. The last two weeks have been non-stop between Keely's birthday party and trying to catch up from when I was working we have been on the go. Today we finally stayed home and relaxed a little. I enjoyed going for a walk this morning before Keely's morning nap. That seems to be the only time of day we can go for a walk when it's not too hot. We've done some laundry and played around. It's been a fun day. Here's Keely enjoying getting into Mom's things. She found my hat and her vitamins and looked hilarious chillin in the hat, walking around everywhere, and talking up a storm.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

One year ago today our life was forever changed when our dear, sweet girl arrived. It is so amazing to me to see what happens in one year. The past year has been so amazing and so much fun, I've enjoyed every moment with my precious girl and can't explain the pride, joy, and most of all love that I have for her. Happy 1st Birthday to little Keely Marie!
