Just Some Awesomeness
Today I had to do some shopping for a little Super Bowl get together we're having. I was not looking forward to shopping at Wal-Mart, on Saturday, and with both kids (Brent unexpectedly had to work today). So I tackled the store running through gathering everything as quick as possible and finally made it to the check out line. While we were in line an older lady and what looked like her granddaughter came behind us. She was looking at Brayden and started smiling. Next thing I know she starts signing "smiling". I got really excited and looked at Keely and told Keely that this lady is signing. Keely just looked at me like "what?!?!" but then the lady noticed that I knew some signing. I finally got Keely to start naming animals and she was signing with her. It was so neat and such a joy. The lady behind us was asking if either of them were deaf and I explained that they could hear but I taught her to have her help communicate with me. She just said how good Keely was doing and had the biggest smile on her face. Keely then put her "cuteness" on overdrive and started to say 'please' and 'thank you' (one of those moments when you just want your kid to shine and they come through). It was so exciting for me to see Keely communicate with the lady and the joy on her face to be able to talk to Keely. And of course the huge smiles that Brayden was giving this whole time. Made the whole grocery trip worth it! Yeah for signing time!! :)
