What Happens in the Crib...

Stays in the crib.
Apparently this is what happens when Mom and Dad aren't around to stop it. Oh well!

Keely's Doc Visit

About a month ago I took Keely to the doctor because I'd noticed a drastic change in my milk supply and was concerned about her weight gain. At the time I'd learned she went from 16lb 5 oz at 6 months to only 17lbs at 9 months. It was then that I started to supplement Keely with formula, (still nursing her in the mornings just so she still gets something from Mom). Fast forward to today when we had our follow up with Dr. Sikora (the most wonderful Ped. EVER) just to see how her weight gain is going. I'm happy to report a month later we are now 18lbs 3 oz! She is doing great and growing beautifully, yeah!!!!

Where We've Been...

Okay, so I know some of you have been wondering "where have you guys been!" I know I haven't been very good on the upkeep of the blog lately so here's a little update to what is happening in the Duncan household. To start, we've been enjoying the company of Brent's mom since the end of Feb. She is here until April 2nd and so we've been busy hanging out with Grandma. Also, I have started working. When we had Brent's mom come out it was to help out at the house and allow me to start substituting for a while to get a little extra $$ before Baby Duncan #2 makes it's arrival. I was going to start just a few days a week but then I received a call to take over a 2nd grade class for the rest of the school year. This was unexpected for me to go back full time but weighing what would be best for our family we decided that I would take it since it was short term and could help us out a little. I started that 2 weeks ago and have to say I'm very lucky to be in a GREAT school and a very good class. In the meantime Keely has enjoyed bonding time with her Grandma and starting April 3rd she'll go to a in-home daycare just around the corner from our home. She's been going a few days a week to get to know the kids and the surroundings and really likes it so far. This week I'm on Spring Break and Brent took the week off of work. His Dad came into town yesterday to join Grandma and spend time with Keely. She's enjoying all the love in the home and we're having fun going on little trips this week to the zoo, aquarium, ect... That's pretty much the story. I'm so sorry for getting so behind and promise to get the act together with more updates on us and Keely. Here's a little picture recap from the past few weeks....

Eating solid foods that haven't been pureed (still does not like green beans).
Spending a lot of time and having fun with Grandma.
Getting my first bump on the head trying to get Daddy's guitar (see bump on left).
Starting to get more brave and standing without help.
Trying on cool shades with Grandpop.
Surprise, Surprise! Mom got a new do! Finally took the plunge and cut the hair. I've been growing it since we moved to Italy with the intent to donate to Locks of Love. I said I'd do it in the spring and after many nights of Brent rolling over on the hair and me waking up to pain I decided today was the day!
So there you have it!

Meet Baby Duncan #2

Here is Baby Duncan #2!! Today we had our first ultrasound and finally got to see this little one in action. It was so much fun and still a little unbelievable that we will be a family of four before we know it. Based on the measurements I am about 12 weeks along and that gives Baby a due date of September 21st! We're already coming out of the first trimester, too crazy. The little one was not nearly as active as big sister was at her first ultrasound but started to have fun stretching and doing head stands by the end of the appointment. Our next ultrasound will be May 6th and that's when we'll learn a bit more about whoever he or she is! Can't wait :)

First Visit to the Zoo!

With the absolutely BEAUTIFUL weather we've been having lately we decided to take our first trip to the zoo last weekend. It was so nice to walk around and letting Keely look at the animals. Although Keely wasn't as into the animals as she was the other kids running around she always enjoys a walk outside. Her favorite part was the ducks in the pond and the giraffes. I can't wait for many, many more zoo adventures!
First walking into the zoo and seeing the Flamingos!

I still can't believe the Peacock let us get this close.

Grandma's Here

Last week Brent's mom arrived to spend some time with Keely and give me a little TLC by helping out around the house. Believe me I'm taking full advantage of the help while I can. Here is a little video of the first day she arrived and getting to hang out with Keely. She sure was having a good time with her Grandma!
