Cousins

Last week cousins Lydia and Jaccob (Domilyse and Simon got to have a week with Mom and Dad) were visiting from Carlsbad during their Spring Break. Keely had fun showing off all her new "tricks" for them and being the center of attention. Jaccob came over one night and quickly became Keely's buddy. He was trying out some of Brent's video games and Keely was avoiding going to bed by hanging out closely to her cousin. Can't wait for them to join us this summer!

First Tooth!

It's hard to see...but it's there! Little Brayden has got his first tooth :) This past week has been challenging. It's funny how you forget how bad the teething can really be. Kinda like labor...you remember it being bad but you don't REALLY remember how bad until you're in it again. (Okay, teething and labor not really comparable but it's the point that I'm trying to make.) Anyway, nothing like a cocktail of teething tablets and tylenol to do the trick. And now, here we have a tooth! So crazy.

First Day of Spring?

Could've fooled me! Then again (as my parents reminded me) we have seen snow as late as May in NM before. This morning this is what we woke up to! Beautiful blanket of snow. Just yesterday we were wearing shorts and this morning bundled up for snow, such crazy NM weather. Since we hardly get snow that sticks here in Los Lunas I HAD to get Keely out as soon as I could this morning to let her enjoy it before it would melt away. She had fun walking around the snow and taking some tasty bites. We made snow angels, ran, and danced on the deck. So much fun...but not how I planned on spending the first day of Spring.

Bath Time Fun

Life just got a little easier or crazier for me, I haven't decided yet. We're trying to do bath time together instead of separate times to give me more time during the day. (Thanks to the Sloan's for lending us the bath chair so I am able to put both of these kiddos in the bath safely.) Now my morning isn't rushed trying to clean Brayden's helmet and washing his head. But the evening is a little more chaotic between dinner, bath, and bedtime routines. But I think after a few days we'll get the swing of things. Especially now that Brent is home in the evenings!

That's right, Brent is DONE with school. And I mean D.O.N.E.! He completed the last class he needed to fulfill his degree! CONGRATULATIONS BABE! We are so proud of Brent. He has worked so hard to complete this degree. Taking a break to let me complete mine, taking the orders to Italy, and also working full time the entire time he was going to school. He certainly has made many sacrifices for his family and we are so thankful for all those sacrifices. Now it is his time and I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate him and share in the joy of completing his degree. Way to go Brent!

Or as Keely calls it yolut. Yogurt or milk? It's all dairy, right. Brent showed Keely how to drink her milk when she finishes her cereal and she just couldn't help herself when she was eating yogurt for lunch. She realized how much faster she could finish it this way by forgoing the spoon. Ymmm...yolut!

First Cereal!

Yum, yum! Brayden got his first taste of solid food on Sunday night. We decided this boy was ready for some cereal since he would smack his lips together non-stop at each meal we ate. He seems to like it. Scary that we're at solids already. Time to take out the food processor and puree some grub for this boy.

On another note our week has also been filled with TEETHING...GRRR! I wish this tooth would just cut already. Poor Brayden is in obvious discomfort. He's not napping well, although very tired. But some Mommy cuddle time along with some teething drops seem to help. Now just waiting for the day that pearly white pops through :)

5 Months Old

My happy guy is 5 months old! I seriously can't believe it. In one month he'll be half way to 1 year old! We'll be starting solids, crawling will be around the corner. Please make time stop!

Our Week with Nana & Pop Pop

I know we've been MIA for a while...well that is because Nana and Pop Pop were here for a visit. And we were having way too much fun to stop and get on the computer. We had such a wonderful visit. Keely enjoyed every moment with her Nana and Pop Pop (getting spoiled with love and little gifts). She lit up every morning when they greeted her. Brayden also had a great time giving sweet smiles and laughs. Since I've been lacking on updating photos here is a slideshow of our week.
